INFORMATION KIOSK

The Association operates an Outdoor Information Kiosk adjacent to our Community Centre from early April to early October.

The Information Kiosk is staffed by Greeters (volunteers and summer students) on weekends in May, June and September, and daily from end Jun to end August.

The Greeters provide information about the Association as well as oversee the registration and collection of drop-in fees for our bocce, golf and pickleball programs.  The staffing runs from 8:00 am to 8:00/8:30 pm (depending on time of year) divided in three shifts per day:

  • MORNING:  8:00 PM to 12:00 PM (4 hours)

  • EARLY AFTERNOON: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM (4 hours)

  • LATE AFTERNOON: 4:00 PM to 8:00/8:30 PM (4 to 4 1/2 hours)

All Association members are encouraged to serve as Greeters for one or more shifts.    If every member of our 525+ Association membership contributes to this effort, each member would only have to do one shift every two years!

If you have never been a greeter, the Kiosk Supervisors are assigned on a weekly basis to assist the Greeters in opening and closing the Kiosk, and to provide orientation as needed.

5 Reasons Why You Should Sign Up to be a Greeter:

  1. There is a table with comfortable seating for four in the shade including a fan and air cooler. You can bring your friends and play cards if it’s not busy, or watch the bocce games.

  2. There are electrical & USB outlets, plus lights so you can bring your laptop and get some work done. Or if you just want to check out the pictures of your grandkids on Facebook there is a FREE Wi-Fi Hotspot.

  3.  You could save the day, or lend a helping hand to a member or guest as you have access to a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, a telephone for emergencies and access to the Centre.

  4. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at our picnic table with a complimentary beverage.  This is a perfect time to catch up on your reading and eat junk food, we won’t tell!

  5. Every shift filled by one of our volunteers reduces the cost of hiring a summer student.  Plus it’s a great way to meet people in our community.

If that isn’t enough to motivate you, ….

For each shift completed, the Greeter's name will be entered in a draw to WIN one of the following. A 2020 Association membership, a bocce membership, golf membership or pickleball membership.

Since our outdoor programs operate from mid-April to mid-October (subject to the weather), the honor system is used for the payment of drop-in fees when the Kiosk is not staffed.
