INFORMATION KIOSK

The Association operates an Outdoor Information Kiosk adjacent to our Community Centre which is staffed daily by CHCA members from July 1st to the end of August.

The Greeters provide information about the Association as well as oversee the registration and collection of membership fees plus drop-in fees for our bocce, golf and pickleball programs.  The kiosk is staffed from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm divided into two shifts per day (weekdays) and three shifts on the weekends:

Weekdays:

  • Morning:  9:00 PM to 2:30 PM (5.5 hours)

  • Afternoon: 2:30 to 8:00 PM (5.5 hours)

Weekends:

  • Morning: 9:00 till 1:00 pm

  • Afternoon: 1:00 till 5:00 pm

  • Evening: 5:00 till 8:00 pm

Our volunteers agree to sign up for 5 or more shifts during the summer. All Association members are encouraged to serve as Greeters. It is a wonderful way to meet people in your community.

A two hour orientation program at the start of the season is provided to familiarize greeters with the various programs, access to the building and taking debit and credit card payments.

5 Reasons Why You Should Sign Up to be a Greeter:

  1. There is a table with comfortable seating for four in the shade including a fan and air cooler. You can bring your friends and play cards if it’s not busy, or watch the bocce games.

  2. There are electrical & USB outlets, plus lights so you can bring your laptop and get some work done. Or if you just want to check out the pictures of your grandkids on Facebook there is a FREE Wi-Fi Hotspot.

  3.  You could save the day, or lend a helping hand to a member or guest as you have access to a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, a telephone for emergencies and access to the Centre.

  4. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at our picnic table with a complimentary beverage.  This is a perfect time to catch up on your reading and eat junk food, we won’t tell!

  5. Every shift filled by one of our volunteers reduces the cost of hiring a summer student.  Plus it’s a great way to meet people in our community.

Since our outdoor programs operate from mid-April to mid-October (subject to the weather), the honor system is used for the payment of drop-in fees when the Kiosk is not staffed.

We use SignUpGenius to keep track of the dates and times our greeters have agreed to staff the Kiosk. You will receive an email reminder the day before and if you can check your dates on SignUpGenius.

The site will also show the dates we still need greeters, so if you can fill any of these slots you can signup here. In addition if you need to change your date.
