Are you concerned about grass or forest fires?

Paul Demenok, our local CSRD Area C Director, has asked that we inform our members of an upcoming open house:

Attendees will be introduced to the FireSmart program which was developed to educate homeowners and others on the steps they can take to significantly reduce the risk of wildfire damage.

Protecting your home from wildfire starts with simple actions. Whether you are doing regular yard maintenance or making large scale changes during renovations or landscaping, you can make choices that will help protect your home from wildfire.  You can find out about these choices and more at the open house.

In addition to the FireSmart program, there will be demonstrations, entertainment for the children and a barbeque.

The South Shuswap First Responders and BC Ambulance will be there as well.

Given the current provincial state of emergency, the timing of this event could not be better.  We hope to see you there.
