Volunteer Stories
It is my absolute pleasure to honor and recognize Anne Ramsay for the numerous contributions that she has made to the Cedar Heights Centre. Anne is a long time member and is a very kind-hearted, thoughtful and hard working person. She excels at obtaining prizes and is a stand-out when it comes to organizing events such as the Annual Christmas Bake Sale, the lunch at the Kid's Only Shopping, the annual Pie Making Day and many other events. Who else but Anne can get 300 pounds of apples donated?! She has a passionate and dedicated commitment to every thing she does for the Centre. And of special note: Her carrot cake is to die for!
Doug is the pickleball co-ordinator for Cedar Heights. He selflessly organizes the clean-up of the courts in Spring. One year, I recall, he even put plastic down over the courts in the fall and took it off in the spring. Doug manages the sign-up for pickleball and sets the schedules for round robin, beginners, etc. He even manages the sign-up for the Sorrento Pickleball League, which runs in the winter at Sorrento Elementary School. He organizes the umbrellas and nets for the courts ahead of play and he also helps clean the courts after a storm. Doug's volunteerism at Cedar Heights makes it possible for so many people to enjoy coming together for fitness and fun.

Check the boxes on your membership form when you sign up, send us an e-mail, leave a voice mail message, respond to requests in our Newsletter, say “Happy to” when asked or offer a helping hand without invitation when you see fit. Your help will be appreciated, even if you can only do so once a year.
